Yllas

Yllas (pronounced "Oo-las") comprises 2 lovely traditional Lappish villages, Akaslompolo and Yllasjarvi, situated 80km above the arctic circle in Finland.
The whole area is beautifully unspoilt and peaceful, with extensive forests all around. You can't fail to feel relaxed here

Finland's third largest National Park, the Pallas-Yllastunturi National Park, is nearby. There are 7 fells in the vicinity. Alpine skiing takes place on the highest, Yllastunturi,718metres high

Our cabin is conveniently located in a quiet forested, yet central, position in Akaslompolo-a small village situated by a lake and surrounded by forest. It is only a short walk to the wellstocked supermarket, local restaurants and shops

In winter, downhill and cross country skis can be hired from the sports/ski shop in the village or at the foot of the slopes. Equipment can be stored at the ski centre or at the cabin
The ski bus stops about 200metres from the cabin and takes just 10-15minutes to the slopes
Cross country tracks start close to the cabin and you can ski from the door

In summer, enjoy "everyman's right" and explore the beautiful fells and forests which are right on your doorstep
